How to Create a Product Catalog

In order to run dynamic product ads, you’ll need to set up a product catalog. The process is simple, just follow the steps below.

This guide has 3 steps:

  1. Login to your Facebook Business Manager

  2. Create your Product Catalog

  3. Add Products to Your Catalog

WAIT! Have you setup your Facebook pixel and microdata tags on your website yet? If not, follow these steps first.


1.) Login

First, login to your Facebook Business Manager. If you don’t have a Facebook Business Manager account, return to the resources page and follow the instructions to create one.


2.) Create Your Product Catalog

From your Facebook Business Manager, click the hamburger icon (≡) in the top lefts and choose “Catalogs”.

Click “Create Catalog”.


Click “E-Commerce” (or the category that best describes your business), then click “Next”.


Choose if you would like to upload product info manually or connect through an e-commerce platform. If you use a platform like Shopify for your website, choose “Connect E-commerce Platform” and follow the steps. If you don’t use an e-commerce platform, choose “Upload Product Info” and follow the steps below.

Choose your business from the first dropdown menu.

Give your catalog a name.

Then, click “Create”.


Click “View Catalog”.


3.) Add Products to your Catalog

Select “Products” from the menu on the right-hand side of the screen.


Click “Add Products".


Choose which method you would like to use. If you have a large product catalog, we recommend selecting “Connect Facebook Pixel”. Click “Next”.


Select your pixel and click “Done”. This will add products to your catalog each time it fires. It may take time for your catalog to update.


Note: You can only use a pixel to add products to an e-commerce catalog. If you have a different type of catalog, use a data feed to add items instead.


That’s it! Congratulations, your Product catalog is now set up.
